The New West End Club was fantastically transformed by Clive last night into a magnificent Ice Palace for this year's Valentine's Ball. Thanks also to DJ Janis and Host Cute and all the beautifully attired ladies (and gentlemen) for a most wonderful and enjoyable event.
Janis played this strangely haunting song at the Ball, it was used in a Volkswagen TV ad in 2002 and later in the film 'Wicker Park' (2004). I found this longer Live version of the song by Matt Hales (Aqualung) on YouTube.
Morrissey played me this song the day after my first trip to London and I was immediately transfixed by it's eerie beauty. It's a wonderful memory and I will always have a tear in my eye when I listen to it. Thank you for loving it too.
